Will not verify username and/or password?
Ensure that Caps Lock button is not on when typing in information especially password as you can only see it in asterisks ***.
Remember username and password are case sensitive.
There should be no spaces in either username or password
Do not enter the @7cities.net as part of your username that is only needed for e-mail.
ERROR, The requested URL could not be retrieved.
If you are logged on - ensure the requested URL (web page) is typed in correctly such as www.7cities.net no spaces or punctuation. The exact spelling is important be sure of the proper extension {.com, .gov, .net etc…}
If you are not logged on and do not receive a Dial-up Connection window - your settings may have been changed to a LAN connection, to reset this for
IE 5.0 go to TOOLS>Internet Options>Connections and make sure that the (Always dial my default connection) option is checked.
IE 4.0 go to VIEW>Internet Options>Connections and make sure that the (Connect to the Internet using a modem) option is checked.
How do I use my e-mail account (send, receive etc.)? Once you have logged in to your Internet Account you can now check or compose e-mail. Two different ways, utilizing the Check Email icon from our home page or the Outlook Express e-mail program.
Check Email: From the www.7cities.net home page. Single-click on the Check Email icon. Enter your user-name and password. Then click Login. The Cibola Web Mail will open from this screen you can send and retrieve your e-mail. To compose e-mail single-click on the Mail-New Message icon. To exit the e-mail program single-click on the Logout link.
Outlook Express: On top of the address bar there are some icons that begin FORWARD - BACK - STOP … single-click the MAIL icon then select Read Mail. The e-mail program Outlook Express will open from this screen you can send and retrieve your e-mail. To check for new e-mail single-click the Send/Recv icon this will check the server for any new e-mail. To compose e-mail single-click on the New Mail icon. To exit the e-mail program single-click on the X in the upper right corner of the screen.
How to upload your personal WEB PAGE
The main page must be named index.html
You need to up-load these pages on to the Cibola Internet server by using an FTP program such as WS-FTP, LapLinkFTP (free), etc... or by using a Web Publishing Program some of the newer Win98 versions have these programs as part of thier operating systems.
The web location asked for by your FTP/web publishing program will be ftp.7cities.net
You want to log-in using your Cibola Internet username and password NOT anonymous or you will not be allowed into your file location.
The server location will be /usr/home/username/public_html this is the location where you should copy your files to.
Note: You would replace username with the username you normally use to log-in to Cibola Internet Services.
Once uploaded you will be able to view your page on the internet by typing www.7cities.net/~username
